Since the invention of film, people have been the most photographed subject on the planet. Let’s face it, we make the best photographs — our eyes, our face, nothing is more appealing to us fellow humans than ourselves. Anyone can take a snapshot, but capturing a person’s essence and soul requires skill, experience and in some cases, quite a bit of luck.
It’s one thing to make a picture of what a person looks like, it’s another thing to make a portrait of who they are. – Paul Caponigro
Some of these images are created in the moment, when someone had a look about them that drew my attention, the light was striking the subject in an interesting way or I just really wanted to capture a moment of/with them. Others in this category are posed and constructed to match my vision for the shoot. Regardless, honesty and softness are two things I strive to represent in my work.
