Abandoned spots have always fascinated me. Whether it be from disruption, financial crises or just plain old fashioned neglect, the world is full of buildings lost to both time and the elements. I am often asked “What exactly fuels your interest with these places?”
I can answer that quite simply with one word, curiosity. I enjoy the sense of mystery while walking through hallways of peeling paint and the discarded personal effects of strangers. Is that really so weird? OK, well maybe it is, but that’s fine by me.
I have an underlying need to want to discover the history of the location. Who lived here? What happened to them? Why isn’t anyone taking care of this place? Will I find something amazing or maybe even disturbing inside? That is all part of the fun!
These lost locations serve as time capsules just waiting to be discovered. Amid the deserted houses, lost landmarks and abandoned architecture, I believe there is beauty within the decay that can still be found if we would just take the time to look. Hopefully I am able to share some of that beauty with you here through my images.
Do you know of any abandoned spots? Let me know in the comments or send me a message. I’m always on the lookout for new places to explore.
